CMS has awarded Palmetto GBA with an $18M Pricing, Data Analysis and Coding (PDAC) Contractor task under which the company will provide specified services in support of the Durable Medical Equipment Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) benefit within the Medicare Fee for Service (FFS) program.
The Contractor shall facilitate, coordinate, and support activities among various Medicare contractors with DMEPOS-related responsibilities (e.g., DME Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs), Zone Program Integrity Contractors (ZPICs), the National Supplier Clearinghouse (NSC), Unified Program Integrity Contractors (UPICs), etc.) as well as other agencies (at the federal and state levels of government) and other stakeholders.
The PDAC contractor will perform the following functions and as further described in the Statement of Work (SOW): Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) Coding Process for DMEPOS, Provide Medicare Coding Advice and Guidance, Establish and Distribute Pricing Files for Certain Drugs and DMEPOS, Conducts Statistical Analysis and Reporting, Support the Integrity of the Medicare DMEPOS Benefit, Assessment of DMEPOS Technologies; and, other Miscellaneous Activities.
