This task is to “maintain the NIH-CIT LAN and backbone at 99.99 percent availability, and the TIC that NIH supports on behalf of DHHS at 99.999 percent availability, where availability excludes maintenance windows. This includes the engineering, operations, and maintenance of the NIH LAN and backbone and the TIC. The NIH network is composed of approximately 5,000 network infrastructure devices that serve approximately 50,000 LAN ports.”
