“The position is located in Network Services, Office of IT Services Management (OITSM), Center for Information Technology (CIT), National Institutes of Health (NIH). The incumbent serves as Chief, Network Services Operations, and provides administrative and technical leadership of a subordinate staff of network engineers and information technology specialists working on complex tasks directly associated with delivering network operations services to the NIH community.”

Responsibilities:

  • Provides supervisory leadership and direction to a subordinate staff of information technology specialists.
  • Oversees the daily activities of these employees from both personal and programmatic direction perspectives.
  • Provides strategic consultation to CIT, NIH, and HHS leadership.
  • Develops and maintains an annual IT budget for the Network Services and contributes to the development of the Service Area and Office -wide budgets.
  • Serves as a project manager and resource manager for projects involving engineering operations.
  • Tracks projects and assigns resources to projects following established project management standards and methodologies.
  • Provides assistance and guidance to resolve any unusual or complex engineering problems that may negatively affect existing systems.
  • Directs the development and documentation of standard operating procedures for network operations.
