VHA seeking Chief, QSV

Summary

Chief, Quality, Safety, and Value/High Reliability (QSV/HR) Service develops and leads programs that perform technical, administrative, and investigative work and applies expertise and knowledge of healthcare delivery systems in performance measurement and improved processes. Activities, functions, and services directly and significantly impact a wide range of agency programs and outcomes within a complex organization.

Duties

  • Provides leadership and direct supervision for: Infection Control and Prevention, Patient Safety, System Redesign and Innovation, Protected Peer Review, Controlled Substance, Risk Management, Clinical Documentation Improvement, Data Analytics and Accreditation programs.
  • Collaborates with both administrative and clinical services to monitor quality and safety within the service and medical centers.
  • Functions as a facilitator in implementing action plans and progress improvement strategies at the service and healthcare system level.
  • Reviews performance measures, external peer review program (EPRP) data, Veterans Affairs Surgical Quality Improvement Program (VASQUIP) data, Inpatient Evaluation Center (IPEC), strategic analysis for improvement and learning (SAIL) and other quality data for trends and early interventions.
  • Applies clinical performance improvement methods, collects outcome data related to policy, procedure, and regulatory compliance and in collaboration with management, initiates performance improvement monitoring projects.
  • Utilizes data and comparative analytic processes in recommending design and implementation of innovative programs to improve service excellence, customer satisfaction and compliance to patient care and regulatory standards.
  • Drives the aspirational goal of achieving a zero-defect, high reliability, sustainable organization.
