VA seeking Health System Administrator (Deputy Network Director)

The Health System Administrator (Deputy Network Director) is accountable for the network’s management of finance, logistics, capital asset services, strategic planning, safety, police, prosthetics, health talent management and public affairs and alignment of these functions and practices to the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) policy and direction. In addition, the incumbent assists the Network Director in advancing the goals of the Network and VHA.

Duties

  • Advising the Network Director, other members of the Network’s management team, and those at the Network’s health care facilities in all aspects of finance, logistics, and capital asset management operations
  • Ensures the Network and its facilities are in full compliance with VHA and VA policy and regulatory requirements in all finance, logistics, and capital asset management operations.
  • Collaborates with leadership to implement Network-wide and national policies and procedures
  • Attracts, retains, and motivates a diverse group of top-quality professionals and administrative employees throughout the Network’s finance, logistics and capital asset management operations
  • Assists the Network Director in special operational assignments often of a highly sensitive nature and must be knowledgeable of and understand the missions, functions, and operation of Central Office, Network, and Medical Center
  • Provides input to and makes decisions that have strong impact on medical center, Network and national matters
  • Requires extensive knowledge of finance, logistics, and capital asset management principles, quality assessment, and administrative management of remote site financial operations
  • May represent the Network Director at meetings of community and government leaders
  • Understands the mission and operational objectives of highly affiliated tertiary care medical centers, unaffiliated secondary care medical centers, neuro-psychiatric medical centers, nursing homes, outpatient clinics, and organizational components of VA Central Office as it relates to finance, logistics, and capital asset management operations.
