VA OIG seeking Supervisory IT Specialist

Summary

OIG is organized into seven operational units: the Immediate Office of the Inspector General, Office of the Counselor, Office of Audits and Evaluations, Office of Healthcare Inspections, Office of Investigations, Office of Management and Administration, and Office of Special Reviews. In addition to the Washington, DC, headquarters, OIG has offices located in more than 60 locations throughout the country.

Duties

  • Develop and design program plans and innovative approaches where no precedents exist and/or develop creative solutions to controversial problems; by directing teams; structuring assignments; drafting persuasive and concise reports and briefing materials; and determining the completeness and sufficiency of the work
  • Supervise the research and development of project objectives, work plans, guidelines, scope, methods, staff requirements, and schedules to meet project needs.
  • Analyze and interpret legislation and agency policies, coordinate with other Federal audit organizations such as the General Accountability Office and other oversight organizations to develop agency guidance in oversight areas and monitors new and interrelated agency-level systems and organizations.
  • Modify and maintain existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware, or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance.
