Summary
Greater Los Angeles VA Medical Center is looking for a Deputy Chief Clinical Informatics Officer experienced in formal informatics and informatics steering committee (ISC) at the facility level. The aim of clinical informatics is to improve health care delivery processes and outcomes through effective use of information and knowledge. The clinician assigned as Deputy Chief Health Informatics Officer (Deputy CHIO) will use knowledge of patient care combined with the understanding of informatics.
Duties
The Deputy Chief Clinical Health Informatics Officer is part of a formal informatics leadership and informatics steering committee (ISC) presence at the facility level. This formal presence ensures that knowledge of informatics is infused throughout the GLAHCS, and that health information issues affecting the delivery of care are clearly articulated and raised appropriately for action.
Major responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:
Leadership:
- Serve as alternate chair of the ISC, providing decisive leadership, issue resolution, task assignment, direction, guidance and support to ISC members during committee meetings, and in completing informatics-centric assignments and projects which include but are not limited to: EHRM Impact-Performance Metrics Baseline Collection; VA Innovative Technology Advancement Lab (VITAL), informatics-centric research projects and continuous improvement projects.
- Lead the SUs workgroup in the development and utilization of surveys of end user (EU) satisfaction
- Provide ongoing leadership and support to SU’s, ensuring their preparedness to effectively identify and relay end user perceptions, beliefs, and recommendations about the EHR (and informatics when appropriate) to the CHIO for review and discussion.
