Summary
The incumbent serves as Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) in the Office of Management (OM), Financial Services Center (FSC) and coordinates with the VA Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) for FMBT (SES), FSC Executive Director (SES), FSC Executive IT Director (SES), FSC Deputy Director (SES), Chief Management Officer, other Chief Officers in directing FSC accounting operations.
Major Duties:
- Responsible for the strategic implementation, training and monitoring of all accounting functions at the FSC in support of the department.
- Responsible for interpreting Federal and VA policies, regulations, and laws, developing or implementing local policies,
- defining administrative and financial requirements, managing the entrepreneurial activities under the VA Franchise Fund,
- and providing advice to the FSC Executive Director.
- Responsible for the oversight of strategic planning, performance measurement, business development, establishment of goals, objectives, and long-range plans.
- Manages two large Services within the Financial Services Center that perform the accounting functions for the Department on a nationwide basis requiring the incumbent to oversee the preparation, coordination, and execution of audited financial reporting.
