Description

The purpose of this contract is to provide VISN 22 with a peer-to-peer image sharing system (software) to include software, training, and support on a firm fixed price basis with four option years.

Image and report sharing systems deploy a proprietary peer-to-peer network that would give the United States Department of Veterans Affairs Hospitals the ability to electronically exchange data with the community. In so doing, imaging and report sharing systems would minimize delays in the delivery of care and reduce the operational costs associated with seeing a Veteran imaged outside of VA under the Mission Act. By using the unique peer-to-peer secure network technology provided by image and report sharing systems, the VISN 22 would be able to, in effect, retrieve the requested images from our community providers electronically, saving the time and cost of using courier services to transport the CD-ROMs to the Radiology File Room.

Objectives

2.1. The required software shall fulfill the agency need for peer-to-peer image sharing software and support whereby radiology images obtained at any VISN 22 facility may be shared with other VAMCs and/or community providers, likewise radiology images performed at other VAMCs and/or community providers may be shared with any VISN

2.2 VAMC. The system shall have high reliability and shall be hosted on a VA VISN 22 virtual machine environment.

3 Scope, Tasks, or Requirements

3.1. The general scope of the work the contractor shall perform is to supply comprehensive peer- to-peer image sharing software to include all training, and technical support.

3.2. The offeror shall sign a national VA Memorandum of Understanding and Interconnection Security Agreement.

3.3. The peer-to-peer network shall query multiple systems outside the VA (community care partners) to recognize imaging exams performed on any enrolled VA patient.
