Summary
This position is located within the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Connectivity and Collaboration Service (CCS), Core Network Services. The incumbent serves as the Action Officer for Network Operations and is responsible for performing managerial functions over Network Operations business processes and actions, as well as providing input and assistance with direction, guidance, and oversight on all aspects of the Network Operations Pillar.
Major Duties:
- Provide expert technical advice, guidance and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on IT issues affecting all data networks.
- Integrates IT programs and services with business needs by monitoring the performance of the systems environment to meet service or operational level agreements.
- Assists in the overall management of Network Operations programs and functions, coordinates work with the Director, Network Operations Senior Leadership and Infrastructure Engineering Leadership team for program/project implementation, status monitoring and reporting to higher management and to respond to senior-level management data calls including VA headquarters, Connectivity and Collaboration Service (CCS), and Senior Executive Service (SES).
- Performs, and assists Director with, enterprise-level IT and managerial assignments and special studies of a unique or critical nature; including high-level analytical studies in all areas within Network Operations, consulting and advising the Director, program analysis and evaluation, senior-level communications and correspondence and process improvement assessments.
- Develops Information and leverages knowledge and experience to serve as a senior technology advisor to the Director. Assists Director to advise of provide information to other IT experts throughout the agency in the interpretation, revision and development of new policy, regulatory guidelines, or network requirements that relate to Network Operations plans and programs including resolution to existing or developing network issues.
