Duties
- The incumbent serves as the senior technical expert or key advisor providing authoritative guidance on a broad range of complex, unrelated IT security policy, operational/program and project requirements specifically related information systems, security matters and incident response for information systems.
- The incumbent ensures the rigorous application of information security/information assurance (IA) policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of all IT services in the assigned areas within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)/Office of the Secretary (OS).
- The incumbent provides leadership, oversight, and guidance to staff in the assigned area within the Office of Operations (OPS), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO).
- The incumbent serves as a key advisor for the assessment and mitigation of risks and vulnerabilities for all systems utilizing policy, procedures, and best practices to ensure security controls are maintained over the life of systems in the assigned areas within Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)/Office of the Secretary (OS).
