VA RFQ: Developing Tools for Dialysis Decision Support

Description

Services proposed on this contract are in support of developing a web-based dialysis decision aid/guide – “The Kidney Roadmap” to support informed decision-making and goal-concordant care for Veterans with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD). The contractor is needed to complete web design and development of the decision aid taking advantage of the scope offered by the web (e.g., animation, interaction, stock photos), and publish a functional prototype.  The contractor will develop the wireframes/logic flowchart and logical branching paths with outcomes incorporating stock art.  web modules comprised of content, link-outs, and will be responsible for the tool maintenance.

2.0 Required Experience / Qualifications:

2.1 The contractor must have at least 4 years of experience in training design, development, and/or delivery.

2.2 They must have experience building behavioral interventions and the unique needs of these users.

2.3 They must possess prior experience working with the Department of Veteran Affairs and the Veteran population.

2.4 They must be familiar with the regulations of the Department of Veterans Affairs.

2.5 They must have broadband internet, necessary hardware (e.g., personal computers) and be proficient with software, such as Microsoft Word and Moodle.

2.6 They must demonstrate that the organization has the time, resources, and facilities to conduct and carry out this project in the time allotted, including a sufficient number of experienced staff to complete the work and project management skills.

3.0 Specific Tasks:

The contractor will be responsible for:

3.1 Collaborating with VA/Stanford Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design, develop, and publish a functional prototype of the Dialysis Decision Support tool, “The Kidney Roadmap”.

3.2 Working with VA/Stanford SMEs to develop wireframes/logic flowchart which may lead up to 5 outcomes.

3.3 Providing branding and design templates for the tool.

3.4 Building a functional prototype based on approved templates and approved wireframes/logic flow. The functional prototype will incorporate stock art (icons, photos, and images) identified by the contractor and VA/Stanford SMEs.
