Description

The mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is to provide benefits and services to Veterans of the United States. In meeting these goals, VA, Office of Information & Technology (OIT), and the Office of Information Security (OIS) strives to provide high quality, effective, efficient, and secure Information Technology (IT) services to those responsible for providing care to the Veterans at the point-of-care, as well as throughout all the points of the Veterans’ health care environment in an effective, timely and compassionate manner.

The Contractor shall provide project management, and technical services to augment the current VA Enterprise DLP program in accordance with existing VA Enterprise Security Directives and Standards and to ensure VA compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy and Security Rule, Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act, Privacy Act, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines, Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and other laws and regulations pertaining to the protection of sensitive VA data.

The Contractor shall provide technical support to assist in VA’s implementation of the Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) Data Pillar to: 1) deploy, test, and validate expanded list of sensitivity tags (global and organizational specific); 2) draft policy; 3) establish channels to support tagging initiatives; 4) develop automated data protections directly assigned with global tags and org-specific tags; 5) develop and execute communications supporting all tagging objectives (including training & awareness; and 6) add data categories to Data Stewardship Handbook. The Contractor shall provide technical support to perform the following: DLP Gap Analysis, Review Requirements, Re-Align Technologies and Data Capabilities, Reporting, Document Operational Response, Establish Policy and Governance to provide Oversight, and Training within the Talent Management System as described in section 5.2.2. (Contractor DLP Training Support).
