Responsibilities
- Key Result Areas and Activities:
- Understand and design data structures to support relational, reporting, and model training
- Develop a team to support multiple aspects of an end-to-end data strategy, including data governance, data security, transactional management, data engineering, and analysis
- Own a deep understanding of AI and ML technologies, as well as programming languages, algorithms, and statistical models
- Identify and assess the latest tools and techniques in AI and ML to ensure their organization stays at the forefront of innovation
- Foster internal REI relationships and mentor senior technical staff
- Develop a clear vision for how data engineering can support REI’s overall business strategy and identify areas where emerging capabilities, like AI and ML can add value
- Develop and maintain a roadmap for implementing these technologies
- Manage a growth pipeline and support competitive technical proposal solutions
- Lead technical proposal solutioning sessions, driving to a compelling outcome
- Generate thought leadership aligning to REI’s technology strategy
