The Supervisory Program Analyst serves as Analytics Support Division Chief within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Financial Services Center (FSC), and Data Analytics Services (DAS) in Austin, TX. Responsible for professional and supervisory work over analytical staff members, provides leadership and direction in the collection and analysis of large data sets used to better understand through numerous analytical, mathematical and statistical methods.
Major Duties:
- Supervise and distribute workload among employees in accordance with established work flow or job specialization and assures timely accomplishment of the assigned workload.
- Make day-to-day adjustments in accordance with established priorities; estimates the expected time of completion of work and maintains records of work accomplishments.
- Instruct employees in specific tasks and job techniques and makes available written instructions, reference materials and supplies; gives on the job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices.
- Maintain a current knowledge and answers questions of other employees on procedures, policies, directives, etc.; checks on work in progress and reviews completed work to see that it meets established standards; resolves simple, informal complaints of employees.
- Report to supervisor on performance, progress and training needs of employees, and on behavior problems; and provides information to supervisor as requested concerning promotions, reassignment, recognition of outstanding performance, and personnel needs.
