HHS IHS seeking Division Director for Upcoming OIT Division

Summary

This position is within the Office of Information Technology (OIT). The incumbent in this position serves as the Division Director for an upcoming division in OIT. The role of the incumbent is to serve as an advisor to senior management for a wide-range of information technology planning, management, and governance. The incumbent in this position reports to the Director, OIT.

Duties

  • Operational Management: Oversee the agency’s strategic planning efforts via regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s leadership, technical counterparts, and end users. Conduct research for up-to-date knowledge to align with industry trends and emerging technologies in anticipation of new business processes. Manage the delivery of technical services through oversight of service level agreements with end users and monitoring systems, programs, and equipment performance. Manage the design, development, and implementation of IT governance processes and solutions to support IHS’s core mission activities and the Health IT Modernization Program. Ensure the IHS IT governance reviews align with agency and departmental goals and objectives and consider industry trends and technology to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Technical Management: Provide managerial oversight for Category Management activities that lead complex enterprise-wide market research activities for information technology acquisitions, communicate with critical stakeholders, and conduct continual analyses to stay ahead of trends, risks, demands, or supply changes. Develop vendor strategic guidance based on optimal product concentrations and relationships to drive maximum value while adhering to government standards to maintain industry analysis, vendor performance, and cost models to reduce supply chain constraints and minimize risk.
  • Supervisory Management: Serve as the Director of the Division of Enterprise Governance and Architecture (DEGA), to direct staff in their activities to meet programmatic goals for clinical and business practice healthcare applications, system design and development. Responsible for approving time and attendance, determining and assessing work performance, priorities, assigning tasks, developing performance standards, advising and counseling employees, effecting disciplinary actions, identifying development and training needs of subordinations, and interviewing and hiring staff members.
