This position is located in the Health Resources and Services Administration, Federal Office of Rural Health Policy, Rural Strategic Initiatives Division. The duty location for this position is in Rockville, MD.
Duties:
This position is a mission critical occupation for HRSA. This position is responsible for analyzing public health programs, policies and procedures to ensure that Health Resources and Services Administration meets its mission, goals and objectives.
As a Supervisory Public Health Analyst, you serve as a Deputy Division Director within the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP). Your major duties and responsibilities include:
- Performing the full range of supervisory duties and managing the day-to-day operation of the Division.
- Providing leadership and oversight of grant management activities, including the review, formulation, coordination and implementation of policies and initiatives as they pertain to rural health grants at the Federal, State, local and community levels.
- Serving as a leading authority on rural public health programs and integrating knowledge and experience of rural public health programs and policies to provide guidance on cross cutting procedural and multilayered and multifaceted policy issues to other components of the agency and other governmental agencies focusing on rural public health.
- Researching and evaluating key public health policies associated with rural public health programs.
- Reviewing and assessing the effectiveness of current public health policies, determining where new or changed policies are required to effectively execute rural public health programs, missions, and functions.
