NIH seeking Deputy Branch Chief, Office of Human Resources

“We are looking for an experienced HR professional with the passion and energy to provide exceptional leadership, expert technical guidance, and daily oversight for the provision of HR services in support of NIH mission-critical programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in proactive human resources advisory services, workforce planning, human resources data analysis, and staffing and placement.”

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all supervisory functions over federal employees (approve leave, conduct performance reviews, monitor and redistribute work, train and coach staff, etc.).
  • Propose and develop new or revised external policies, practices, or programs to deal with various recruitment issues.
  • Research, define, and document best practices regarding external recruitment techniques in both the Federal and private sectors.
  • Participate in management meetings to discuss organizational changes, turnover, changes in skills requirements, position allocations/authorizations, and other issues impacting recruitment programs.
  • Provide expert advice on major organizational planning issues, such as the expected impact of reductions in work force, reorganizations, or other mass changes or situations involving a broad perspective on complex, interrelated actions.
