The Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO), Account Manager for Benefits Appeals and Memorials provides strategic leadership managing Information Technology (IT) projects, prioritizing and allocating resources for various IT customer portfolios; and maximize value to Veterans Affairs (VA) and optimization of IT resources and investment vital to VA’s mission achievement. The DCIO serves as primary contact and partner between IT and its’ customers across the VA Administrations and Staff Offices.
Duties:
The position is in the Office of Information and Technology, Account Management Office and serves as the responsible manager and key business partner for the implementation of VA IT programs and projects. reporting to the Deputy Chief Information Officer for the Account Management Office with responsibilities including, but are not limited to:
- Provides in-depth knowledge for the development, design, and implementation of technology solutions to enhance product and resource management and service delivery to shape achievable solutions to evolving business demands.
- Provides advice and direction on customer projects, outlining programmatic objectives and their relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Leverages and works with leads for each domain under their purview to address conflicts and insure standards adherence.
- Works with all program/project management teams to ensure holistic enterprise ownership and accountability of all programs/projects and develops best practice reporting to keep the leadership abreast of status.
- Leads discussions with OIT and VA leadership on portfolio alignment with strategic direction and participate in developing annual IT capital spending budget and objectives planning with multi-administration, agency-level impact.
- Ensures OIT products and services, service levels, costs, budgets, escalation procedures, and fulfillment processes integrate with VA business functions and comply with the VA cost constrained environment.
