“The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a Supervisory IT Specialist, Director of Data and Analytics. You will oversee the complete Data and Analytics IT ecosystem, guiding Product Managers, advancing the strategy, vision, and technology for obtaining data that is otherwise inaccessible.”
Responsibilities:
- Drive the data analytics team to deliver cutting edge, efficient, optimized data integration and curation processes that leverage cloud technologies at scale.
- Provide vision for building innovative, scalable, optimized data platforms for reporting, operational dashboards, machine learning, AI, and custom data products all designed around stakeholders needs
- Develop strong relationships with Product Managers and key partners consistently driving the direction of data analytic solutions. Proven ability to influence peers, senior leaders, and others who are not direct reports.
- Lead the recruiting activities for Data Analytics organization, ensuring that team consists of outstanding, top performers.
- Provide strategic leadership on large cross-functional horizontal initiatives, including data analytics support for new product and services rollouts.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of VA data repositories and tools.
- Accelerate the onboarding and curation of data sets of enterprise interest.
- Conduct analysis, evaluations, or investigations to support organizational programs, systems, and processes.
- Integrate and enhance information management and information technology programs to provide systems, tools, and assessment capabilities.
- Fuse IT-related best practices and data governance; and communicate recommendations and complex data-related topics using graphical presentations.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of plans to meet short and long-range goals.
- Create, track, and maintain all documents and artifacts related to this role.
