Longtime VHA Records Officer Retires

Matt Staden, having spent 43 years in government service, including 24 years in the Navy, 3 years as Department of Defense (DoD) contractor and 16.5 years in Civil Service – including over 8 years with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) as a Records Officer – has retired.

Matt’s career included over 18 year of records management experience at the senior federal government agency level and over 8 years of health records management within the Department of the Navy, Navy medicine.

Prior roles include:

  • Records Officer – Veterans Health Administration
  • Deputy Director of Directives & Records Division, Navy Records Manager, SECNAV Staff- Secretary of Navy
  • Deputy Director Navy Staff Code (5) Navy Records Manager – Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV)
