Apex Systems seeking Business Development Executive — Software, Cloud, and Mobility Center of Excellence

Responsibilities:

  • Create, grow, and mature the pipeline for Software, Cloud, and Mobility Center of Excellence.
  • Identify, Qualify, and Capture opportunities aligned with the Software, Cloud, and Mobility Center of Excellence.
  • Assist in creating strategies, win themes, and discriminators for implementation into proposals.
  • Create and execute customer call plans. Coordinate and conduct meetings with customers, competitors, clients, and teammates to develop market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, acquisition timing, and contract vehicle choices.
  • Understand CoE priorities, and accordingly Groom & Balance Pipeline with appropriate mix of opportunities, on a continuous basis.
  • Build winning teams for relevant solicitations.
  • Have reasonable understanding of CoE priority areas – to include Systems & Software Development, Agile/DevSecOps, Cloud landscape, Data Management landscape, Systems Integration, Enterprise Architecture, Digital Transformation, and Cybersecurity – such that can provide critical reviews, recovery, and writing support.
  • Experience in both the DoD and Federal Civilian IT support BD arena. More specifically, AF, Army, Homeland, HHS, Treasury, State, Labor, Agriculture, Transportation, Commerce.
  • Participate in the business development process, including pipeline reviews, opportunity gate reviews, black hat sessions, and proposal reviews.
  • Collaborate within management to support cross enterprise objectives and customer engagement.
  • Support overall strategic planning and linking pursuits/capture activities which support the business development metrics for awards, submits, and pipeline.

Requirements:

  • 15 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated success in winning opportunities in the full and open arena ranging from $10M to $100M in total contract value.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the ever-evolving IT landscape and priority drivers at various federal departments and agencies
  • Demonstrated access to and relationships within DoD and/or FedCiv markets
  • Demonstrated teaming relationships with companies of mid & large sizes that operate in federal IT acquisition market
  • Leadership skills to develop, organize and execute significant BD activities, including building industry teams, assessing win probability, and executing customer call plans.
  • The ability to operate at the senior level and influence, negotiate and close.
  • Experience in executing a leading role during formal proposal submissions.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
