VA seeking Senior Director of the Digital Service

“The incumbent serves as the Senior Director of the Digital Service at VA (DSVA) under the direction of the Executive Director of DSVA. The incumbent is responsible for developing and executing a wide variety of IT initiatives in support of VA strategic priorities. In addition to developing strategies, planning, and execution of project management principles, methods and tools, the incumbent will be hands-on in the day-to-day execution of all aspects of the project and program.

Major Duties: 

  • Conceptualizes new methods, principles, and concepts to resolve broad systemic programmatic problems to deliver better government services to the American people through technology and design. 
  • Leads the transformation of critical services using best practices and new approaches to support government modernization efforts. 
  • Conceives, plans, and manages broad, emerging, and/or critical large-scale agency programs and serves as an expert throughout the agency on major nation-wide/government-wide program issues of Congressional interest, involving unprecedented factual concerns, requiring balancing of conflicting interests of extreme intensity involving future program and product application of the program’s product or results. 
  • Documents how the implementation of a new system or new interface between systems impacts the current and target environment including but not limited to security posture.”
