VA RFI: Perioperative (PeriOp) Planning Software (PPS)

“The VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS) are seeking sources to provide a Brand Name or Equal annual Perioperative (PeriOp) Planning Software System for scheduling, tracking, and managing daily operating room (OR) operations and procedures through integration with Veterans Health Integrated Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) / Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS). THIS IS A SOFTWARE REQUIREMENT ONLY USING EXISTING EQUIPMENT.”

The Contractor SHALL:

  • Provide PPS that will work with existing equipment and provide for a safe and efficient flow of patients from the Pre-Operative (Pre-Op) area to the OR into the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) for recovery.
  • Configure the software system to create alerts, electronic checklists, track needed data points to include number of cases, total time in and out of the Operating Room (OR), anesthesia delivery time, operative time, block utilization, case readiness, lag times, missing equipment and display pertinent information continuously in real-time along with analysis reports to meet the goal of preventing surgical errors (“Near events”) and reduce surgical complications that lead to increased efficiency and improved patient care…”
