“The IT Program Manager position is located in the Office of Information Technology, Development/Security/Operations, IT Operations & Services pillar of the Department of Veterans Affairs. The incumbent provides guidance and assistance to IT management, technical staff, service owners, delivery providers, partners and OIT stakeholders, and develops and implements policies, procedures and best practice initiatives.”
Responsibilities:
- Provides policy guidance to IT management, staff, and customers; defines current and future business environments; prepares IT budgets; and manages IT investment portfolios.
- Plans, develops, implements, and maintains programs, polices, and procedures to protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems, networks, and/or data.
- Assigns tasks, coordinates operations, monitors progress and initiates corrective actions to ensure work is efficiently accomplished and schedule(s) are adequately maintained.
- Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
- Develops feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, economic analyses, functional descriptions, other analytical studies or research and definitions of overall systems architectures to support validated enterprise business system requirements.
