VA seeking Deputy Executive Director for Operations, Compensation Service

“The Deputy Executive Director for Operations duties and responsibilities include: 

  • Oversees national training for all compensation claim processors within VBA. Including new claims processor centralized instructional content as well as web-based pre-training and after-training support. 
  • Ensures statutory skills certification requirements for applicable Veteran Service Center employees are met. 
  • Oversees the compensation national quality assurance program, which consists of general quality reviews and specialized reviews for the organization. 
  • Directs policy and procedures for all Regional Office Quality Review Specialists. 
  • Conducts oversight of Regional Offices to ensure they are performing according to current policy and procedures. 
  • Oversees business requirements, including the maintenance of all Legacy IT systems, and having an integral role in the development of VA claims processing systems. 
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures related to the administration of VA disability compensation claims. 
  • Provides executive leadership responsibility for the effective, efficient, and economical operation of benefits programs and services provided by law for Veterans, their dependents, and beneficiaries. 
  • Provides managerial oversight and competence in articulating the mission, identifying overlapping or redundant functions, and negotiating roles and responsibilities. 
  • Provides leadership and possesses knowledge of issues that affect overall operation. 
  • Works to establish central office policies and procedures consistent with national standards. 
  • Provides competence in translating program needs into operational accomplishments. 
  • Captures changing needs of varying customers via outreach in Veteran communities, conventions, inter/intra agency entities, Congress and other local stakeholders, etc.”
