“The National Institutes of Health, Office of the Director (NIH/OD) uses Carbon Black software, which is an enterprise incident response and remediation tool. This product has the capability to identify malicious files and domain and notify the security team. It also has the capability that allows security team to immediately connect to the compromised computer and remediate. It is used to identify advanced threats and quarantine the threats. Carbon Black is tool of choice for NIH/OD because it is the only tool that provides all the components needed. Carbon Black is the only incident response and remediation tool that has the following combinations: OS Query (Live Query) which provides over 20 threat intel Feeds; Data Lake is part of the tool and not a separate subscription; can be used for threat hunting and allows OS level access for remediation; allows blocking of malicious files; allows easy API integration; allows scripting of tasks via APIs; allows easy groupings of departments; allows easy integration with Splunk software and other automation tools; and provides process tracking trees.”
