Former CMS Lead Takes Role as VP of Health Care Research at NORC, University of Chicago

Lateefah Hughes, an industry leader with 20+ years of experience in the Government and private healthcare sector, has taken on a new challenge as Vice President of Health Care Research at National Opinion Research Center (NORC) at the University of Chicago.

Lateefah brings perspective gained having been responsible for regulatory and operations implementation of healthcare and health insurance programs, including 13 years of experience implementing Federal operational, payment, and compliance policy programs for Medicare Part C, Medicare Part D and the Affordable Care Act Health Insurance programs.

In this new role, Lateefah supports policy development, evaluation, and program design related to health care and facilitates the continued evolution of NORC’s Health Care Research Department.

Prior roles include:

  • Vice President of Federal Services, Vice President of Account Management – ARDX
  • Acting Deputy Group Director, Payment Policy & Financial Management – Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
  • Director, Division of Risk Adjustment Operations (ACA) – Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
