VA taps Acting Chancellor of the VA Acquisition Academy (VAAA)

Judith Dawson, an industry leader with experience overseeing acquisition workforce functions at the three largest Federal Agencies (VA, DHS, and HHS), who was most recently responsible for leading transformational human capital strategic planning initiatives for over 17,000 acquisition professionals at VA, has taken on a new challenge as Acting Chancellor of the Department of Veterans Affairs Acquisition Academy (VAAA). In this new role, Judith directs and oversees the training of VA’s acquisition workforce and serves as executive leader for the Academy’s unique business units, whose purpose is to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of VA acquisitions.

Prior roles include:

  • Director, Office of Acquisition Human Capital Management Services – US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
  • DHS HSAI Acquisition Workforce Strategist – US Department of Homeland Security
  • Director, Office of Acquisition Workforce & Strategic Initiatives – US Department of Health and Human Services
