“The COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force was established by an Executive Order earlier this year to address health and social disparities that result in disproportionately higher rates of complications related to COVID-19.”
“As an example from the Executive Order, ‘People of color experience systemic and structural racism in many facets of our society and are more likely to become sick and die from COVID– 19. […] Despite increased State and local efforts to address these inequities, COVID–19’s disparate impact on communities of color and other underserved populations remains unrelenting.'”
“The Task Force’s mandate is to provide specific recommendations to the President of the United States to mitigate inequities related to the pandemic and prevent similar impacts in the future.”
“Coforma is supporting the subcommittee on structural drivers and xenophobia through a contract issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Foundation. In collaboration with the Task Force, Coforma will develop a comprehensive landscape and full gap analysis, then synthesize data into a set of actionable recommendations.”
“’Health inequities across the US must be addressed in order to improve the daily lives and well-being of vulnerable communities. For too long, these inequities have been exacerbated as a result of crises. The facilitation and strategy Coforma will provide for the COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force will help address and prevent inequities. We are honored to collaborate with Deloitte to help this esteemed task force surface data-informed solutions that will last,’ said Ashleigh Axios, CXO of Coforma.”
