“The Executive Director Acquisition, Technology and Logistics functions as the subject matter expert to the Under Secretary for Health (USH), Deputy USH, Assistant USH for Support Services and other AUSHs, 18 Network Directors, and 172 VAMC Directors on acquisition and supply chain issues. The incumbent oversees all activities associated with acquisition and life cycle management of expendable, durable and nonexpendable supplies and equipment including major capital equipment investments within the Veterans Health Administration.”
“Other duties include:
- Exercises authority, direction and control over the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Head of Contracting Activity. Advises VA Executive Director Acquisition Executive in the development of VA acquisition policy. Develops, maintains, interprets, implements and improves VHA acquisition policy and guidance.
- Principal staff advisor on healthcare technology management, including biomedical maintenance matters to USH, DUSH and AUSHs, VISNs, VA Medical Centers and other key senior staff. Develops, maintains, interprets, implements and improves VHA healthcare technology and biomedical maintenance policy and guidance.
- Functions as the subject matter expert and advises and assists the USH, DUSH and AUSHs, VISNs, VAMCs and other key senior staff on all healthcare logistics and medical supply chain issues.
- Leads the development, implementation, oversight and improvement for all VHA healthcare logistics and medical supply chain activities.
- Provides executive direction requiring exceptional managerial competence and technical expertise in the planning, coordination and management of a broad, complex range of programs with higher level program directives, diverse operations and legislative requirements.
