VA to Award Contract for Suicide Prevention Management Software Application

“The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 09, hereby provides notice of its intent to award a sole source, firm fixed-price contract for Suicide prevention Management Software Application to Document Storage Systems, Inc.  The contract is expected to be awarded in accordance with FAR 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items and specifically FAR 13.501 Special Documentation Requirements, where acquisitions conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, but still require a justification using the format of FAR 6.303‐2.  A Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition has been approved. The anticipated award date is June 14, 2021.  The contractor will provide these products to the Tennessee Valley Healthcare Service at the Nashville VA Medical Center (VAMC) at 1310 24th Ave. South, Nashville, TN 37212.”

“This acquisition is for the purchase of a suicide prevention support tool used for real-time surveillance, alerting, documentation and reporting that is already approved for use within Tennessee Valley Healthcare Service and the VA Network. The DSS Iconic SPM, manufactured by Document Storage Systems, Inc (DSS), is a technology that assists suicide prevention stakeholders in providing care to patients at high risk for suicide. The technology features data visualization, standardized workflows, and analytical utilities that work together to monitor processes, performance, and outcomes (i.e. performance on suicide prevention related SAIL measures – HRF, PDE, etc.) in real time.”
