VA intends to award work modification for LSRP – BD BACTEC Interface

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Procurement, Acquisition and Logistics, Technology Acquisition Center (TAC), located at 23 Christopher Way, Eatontown, New Jersey, intends to issue a new work modification to existing contract 36C10B19C0019 for the installation, configuration and testing of the BD BACTEC FX Blood Culture system with BD EpiCenter Microbiology Diagnostic data management software that requires connectivity to the Cerner Millennium PathNet Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) deployed at the Huntington VA Medical Center (VAMC) under the Laboratory System Re-engineering Project (LSRP).  The TAC intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed price modification to the incumbent, Cerner Government Services, Inc., located at 10200 Abilities Way, Kansas City, KS 66111, as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1 entitled, “Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.”  However, in accordance with FAR 5.207(c)(16)(ii), all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency.  The proposed period of performance will co-term with the existing agreement, which continues for another 7-month period with one, 12-month option period remaining.
