Press Release: CGI’s Momentum® Authorized by FedRAMP

Continuing on Momentum Suites’ success in the Cloud, CGI (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A) announced that its Momentum® Enterprise Suite Software as a Service (SaaS) has been authorized for Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) by the Joint Authorization Board (JAB).  With this authorization, CGI’s Momentum joins a select group of certified products endorsed by the JAB to work within the Cloud at Federal agencies. CGI achieved this status following a rigorous authorization process and a successful six-month trial.

“With this authorization of FedRAMP by JAB, CGI’s Momentum achieved an independent assessment that validates the strength and security of our solution when it comes to cloud deployment at federal agencies,” said John B. Owens II, Senior Vice-President of CGI’s Enterprise Solutions Group. “We are proud of our hard-working team that helped us achieve this certification milestone that will open up more opportunities for Momentum at federal agencies.”

Momentum as a Service is a proven, built-for-federal solution providing numerous benefits, such as rapid provisioning, lower operating expense and more affordable software upgrades. It is a results-based software-as-a-service that balances client needs for pricing, flexibility and functionality with improved efficiency, software standardization and predictable outlay. Momentum is being used to realize financial, budget formulation and acquisition efficiencies at over 100 federal departments, agencies and other entities across the civilian, intelligence and defense markets, many of which have authority to operate in cloud infrastructure environments.

FedRAMP is a government-wide program that promotes the adoption of secure cloud services across the federal government by providing a standardized approach to security and risk assessment for cloud technologies and federal agencies. As one of the most stringent compliance processes a vendor can undertake, FedRAMP includes an in-depth examination of a solution’s data security and data governance capabilities, as well as the security practices of its cloud services.
