VA seeks Executive Director, Acquisition Strategy and Category Management

“The incumbent reports to the Deputy Chief Information Officer for Strategic Sourcing. The incumbent serves as the Executive Director for Acquisition Strategy and Category Management in the Office of Strategic Sourcing, within the Office of Information and Technology (OIT).” 

“Responsibilities: 

The Executive Director provides executive level leadership and direction to a staff that is responsible for developing customer relationships with the various VA Administrations and Staff Offices and creating and implementing acquisition and category management strategies and processes to ensure customer requirements are identified and implemented through the acquisition and category management process. 

  • The incumbent is responsible for providing executive leadership and guidance necessary to accomplish the required planning and directing of all OIT systems and service contracts in support of the Department’s strategic goals and objectives. 
  • The incumbent is responsible for consulting with the customer and proposes the specific offerings and service specifications for that customer. 
  • The incumbent is responsible for the establishment and operations of the Acquisition and Category Management program office and maintains its efficacy for governing Acquisition and Category Management processes. 
  • The Executive Director develops and implements an action plan that designed to ensure IT acquisition and category management actions are effectively planned, defined, prioritized, approved and resourced. 
  • The Executive Director provides executive leadership and governance over the coordination of the day-to-day processing of procurement actions to the Department’s procurements organization.”
