Public Health Service promotes Deputy Director to be Rear Admiral of the Commissioned Corps

Cedric Guyton, an experienced executive possessing almost two decades in leadership roles in the US Public Health Service and diverse roles serving in federal health agencies including at FDA, ONC, CMS and TRICARE Management, has been tapped to be the Rear Admiral at Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS).

Cedric will bring his experience as the Deputy Director of Commissioned Corps Services where he was responsible for over 6200 active duty and 6000 plus retired PHS officers, providing leadership and oversight on Corps-related services to his new role.

Prior roles include:

  • Deputy Director of Commissioned Corps Services – Commissioned Corps of the US Public Health Service
  • Captain – US Public Health Service
  • Senior Supervisory Regulatory Officer – Food and Drug Administration
