Pierre Yong, building on more than a decade supporting CMS and HHS through a series of progressively responsible roles, including recent experience leading the team that oversaw and managed all phases of developing and launching CMS’s national rural health model program, the Community Health Access and Rural Transformation Model (CHART), takes on a new challenge as Acting Chief Quality Officer with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation.
Pierre brings perspective gained leading and coordinating CMS’s efforts to implement a new benefit for Medicare coverage of opioid treatment programs (OTPs) and through conceptualizing, developing, and implementing the Meaningful Measures initiative, a new Administration priority launched in 2017 to focus on the key quality issues for measurement and improvement while minimizing burden for providers.
