The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a modification to contract 75D30120C09441 to Northrop Grumman for Immunization Datalake and Data Storefront Development and Support. CDC awarded contract 75D30120C09441 to Northrop Grumman for implementing IZ data lake for COVID vaccine data. The POP of this contract is from 9/4/2020 to 9/3/2021. As part of the CDC Data Modernization Initiative, there is a need to expand the scope of data services provided though this data lake to include non-COVID data especially for pan respiratory surveillance.
Since this work is ongoing, Northrop Grumman is the only vendor who can do so without imposing the substantial risk to the existing COVID data work in case of bringing on board another potential vendor to work on the IZ Data Lake for non-COVID data. It will be impossible for multiple vendors to work on the same technical solution, and would blur their areas of responsibility. Due to this, CDC wants to modify the current contract with Northrop Grumman for this non-COVID data lake work to ensure continuity of work and avoid any impact on the COVID work already been conducted by the Northrop Grumman team…
