CDC taps Chief, Public Health Data Modernization Unit

Dr. Aaron Harris, building on nearly a decade with the CDC and progressive responsibility and leadership roles, has taken on a new challenge as Chief, Public Health Data Modernization Unit, Public Health Informatics Office at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In this new role, Dr. Harris promotes public health data modernization efforts and provides informatics subject matter expertise in support of CDC surveillance systems, public health decision support, laboratory informatics, and workforce development.

Prior roles incude:

  • Team Lead, Clinical Interventions Team – CDC
  • Medical Epidemiologist – CDC
  • Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer – CDC
