This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of the Director (OD), Office of the Chief Operating Officer (OCCO), Office of Safety, Security and Asset Management (OSSAM) in Atlanta, Georgia.
Responsibilities:
The incumbent serve as the Information Technology lead within the Office of Safety Security and Asset Management (OSSAM). The Information Technology office provide account management representing the entire range of IT products and services to OSSAM customers.
As a Supervisory IT Specialist you will:
- Develop and drive a customer solution strategy to identify and address business and technical challenges within OSSAM offices for both internal and external customers.
- Work with other OSSAM offices as well as OCIO points of contact and customers to better understand customers’ experiences and align current or future OSSAM products and services to customer needs.
- Recommend changes to information and physical security guidelines, policies, plans and procedures ensuring effective conduct of assigned missions, functions, and operations of the organization.
- Establish plans and policies for the design and implementation of IT mandatory standards and IT security programs that are compliant with the Federal Information Security Management Agency (FISMA), OMB, HHS, CDC, and other government mandates and regulations.
- Oversee the management and operations of enterprise IT service desks and integrated information systems efficiently and effectively.
- Facilitate and direct the development and review of operational performance metrics to ensure the division meets its goals.
- Plan work for accomplishment by subordinate units/teams, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules based on consideration of difficulty of requirements and assignments such that the experience, training, and abilities of the staff are effectively utilized to meet organization and customer needs.
- Review work and management techniques of subordinate supervisors and team leaders and is held accountable for actions taken and advice provided by staff of subordinate units/teams.
- Makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors, team leaders, or comparable personnel; and/or contractors, as appropriate.
