Dr. Francine Sandrow, a Senior Executive and Medical Professional with more than 20 years of success spanning clinical informatics, emergency medicine, hospitals, outpatient, and public health, was recently tapped to serve as the new permanent Chief Health Informatics Officer for the Office of Community Care at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
Dr. Sandrow, who was serving as the acting OCC CHIO since this past Spring, brings great perspective to the role from her time with VA as Clinical Lead on the Change Leadership team in VISN 4, where she was responsible for selecting and deploying Health Informatics Technology and working closely with the clinical service lines to identify and diffuse innovation. She also brings prior experience with the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Emergency Medicine, as ED Director of Medical Informatics, and as Physician Co-Lead ED for electronic health record deployment.
