The Executive Director, OBI leads the development of the business technology requirements of the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA). Coordinates with program leaders regarding legislative proposals and specific regulatory/procedural changes needed for successful implementation of VBA’s business systems plan.”
“The Executive Director, Office of Business Integration (OBI) duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Advises and makes recommendations to the Chief of Staff (COS) regarding needed changes in policy and procedures impacting the agency’s Information Technology (IT) infrastructure and architecture.
- Assures that business processes are integrated in the most effective manner, conforming to all applicable laws, regulations, standards and procedures.
- Assist the COS, Principal Deputy Under Secretary for Benefits (PDUSB) and Under Secretary for Benefits (USB) in preparation for briefings, speeches, congressional testimonies, and high-level presentations regarding system and enterprise architecture; process integration; and IT infrastructure needs.
- Responsible for daily oversight of OBI’s activities related to operational support, human and fiscal resource management, internal and external stakeholder engagement, and VBA policies and procedures.
- Responsible for oversight and evaluation of all VBA IT processes and integration and how they impact the delivery of benefits and services.
- Maintains an overview of OBI’s and the Office of Information & Technology programs to assure integration across the enterprise.
- Directs, monitors, and controls program progress, accomplishments, and effectiveness through review of program documents;
- Implementation of policy guidance and decisions; analysis of current and projected program requirements; attendance at meetings and conferences with key officials and operating staff; analysis of policies and directives from higher authority; and discussions with key internal and external stakeholders.”
