Col. Kara Gormont, a senior health care executive with proven experience in increasingly challenging positions for the past 24 years, to include experiences that range from clinical bedside care to C-suite executive decision-making; in a variety of settings to include international, out-patient, in-patient, ambulatory surgery, military organizations, regional headquarters, integrated health systems, and university health systems, takes on a new challenge as Chief of Staff with the Defense Health Agency.

We’re pleased to welcome DHA’s new Chief of Staff, Col Kara Gormont. Col Gormont comes to us after commanding the 15th Medical Group at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. She has served as both a Medical Service Corps and Nurse Corps officer in her career, and brings experience in the forward-deployed environment, humanitarian assistance, and health care operations.
