Responsibilities:
- Serves as a senior official and a principal administrative advisor to the OASH Assistant Secretary for Health (ASH) and the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Health (PDASH), with responsibility for managing a portfolio in the areas of program operations and administration, including a broad range of administrative services, program assessment and risk management.
- Integrates administrative activities for the office to achieve breakthrough efficiencies, while coaching and motivating professionals to excel in creating positive solutions to improve service delivery. Provide leadership and oversight of administrative operations. Engages with senior officials to provide operational and management expertise germane to the formulation of policies, goals, and objectives. Develops operational strategies and participates in program and resource allocation decisions which impact the total organization.
- Serves as principal advisor to leadership on operational and administrative management matters. Through regular meetings, presentations, correspondence, and other means, the incumbent ensures that information and developments in the administrative/management area are communicated to appropriate staff; while developing solutions to emerging problems of a critical and/or controversial nature, which may affect the success of the entire organization.
