VA recruits former MHS Chief Strategist and VA SES as new Executive Director of VBA’s Office of Transition and Economic Development (TED)

The announcement of the move notes: “It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Richard Hartman as Executive Director of VBA’s Office of Transition and Economic Development (TED). As Executive Director, he leads VA’s efforts to ease the transition journey for Servicemembers and Veterans. Dr. Hartman is responsible for overseeing the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) as well as programs and initiatives such as VA Solid Start, Personalized Career Planning and Guidance, VA/DOD Skillbridge, and Economic Investment Initiatives.”

“As a past career member of the federal Senior Executive Service at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Dr. Hartman was responsible for the program execution and evaluation of legislatively mandated health care delivery programs within the VA. Of note, he led the efforts to meet the congressional requirements to create the VA’s Office of Rural Health…”
