“The responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
- Informs policy supporting VA’s Comprehensive Information Technology Plan specifically focusing on Trusted Information Sharing (TIS), interoperability and data sharing between VA system owners, Community Care Provider, external stakeholders and Veterans. Provides input to data strategy and migration plans, TIS policy, and builds support with leadership promoting interoperability and data standardization. The incumbent refines Lighthouse PWS to ensure that Lighthouse PWS and EHRM PWS address goal of interoperability between VA and DOD, Community Care Providers, and National Interoperability.
- Responsible for administering a budget of 16B. The Executive Director is also responsible, through subordinate managers and supervisors for directing the activities of professional, technical and administrative employees ranging in grades GS-9 through SES, Title 38 and contract staff.
- Responsible for all aspects of the OEHRM and exercising managerial authority to oversee the overall planning, direction and timely execution of program functions, including development, assignment and approval of organizational goals and objectives to subordinate levels of the organization.
- Serves as primary advisor to the VA Secretary and Deputy Secretary. Represents the VA Secretary and Deputy Secretary in a wide variety of situations within and outside the Department and works with the representatives of other Federal agencies and the private sector. Authorized to speak for the VA Secretary and Deputy Secretary, representing his/her point of view, and commits the office and VA to courses of action.”
