IBA is proud to announce that the Forward Operating Base EXpert Telemedicine Resource Utilizing MObile Application for Trauma (FOXTROT) has been named a 2020 FedHealthIT Innovation Award winner.
Developed by IBA team members at the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command (USAMRDC) Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC) in Fort Gordon, Georgia, FOXTROT is an operationally secure, HIPAA-compliant mobile application for remotely treating combat-related injuries involving the eye. The application currently features triage surveys, image capture, chat, reports, remote health monitoring, and user management. With additional future developments, FOXTROT will ultimately provide comprehensive teleophthalmology care to deployed service members. FOXTROT has been tested at U.S. military treatment facilities (MTFs), including Joint Base Andrews in Maryland and Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center in Texas, and deployed at selected forward operating bases in Afghanistan.
