VA Office of Information Security Seeking IT Leader for Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC)

“This position is responsible for Threat Intelligence and Technical Services in the Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC) in the immediate Office of Information Security, Office of Information Technology, Department of Veteran Affairs. The incumbent provides supervisory oversight and guidance to the Cybersecurity Operations Center staff that are responsible for monitoring the security and operational status of the VA’s applications.”

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning and coordination of agency wide implementation of Government-wide IT security defense strategies to ensure protection of the IT infrastructure.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise and support to planning/developmental forums and working groups as appropriate.
  • Identify need for changes based on new security technologies or threats.
  • Make recommendations regarding the selection of cost-effective security controls to mitigate risk (e.g., protection of information, systems and processes).
  • Communicates with all levels of management including Board members
