“Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System, Ann Arbor, Michigan is soliciting and intends to award a firm fixed price contract for PolyAnalyst support and maintenance that is used by the National Center for Patient Safety. NAICS Code 541519, size standard $30 million. The Government intends, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) (Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand-name or industrial mobilization)), to negotiate on a sole source basis with Megaputer Intelligence (1600 West Bloomfield Rd, Suite E, Bloomington, IN, 47403), for this procurement due to the fact that Megaputer Intelligence created the PolyAnalyst software that is utilized, and are therefore the only company that can support and maintain the software. This will also avoid a substantial duplication of cost to the Government.”
