VA Sources Sought: Clinical Documentation Improvement Training for Kansas City VA Medical Center

This statement of work is for the purchase of training for Clinical Documentation Improvement (hereby referred to as CDI) for Kansas City VAMC Hospital and CBOC facilities within Kansas and Missouri. Kansas City VAMC HIMS Department is proposing the purchase of an online and face-to face comprehensive CDI training curriculum for CDI Physician Champions, CDI Specialists and Nurse Champions.

The KCVA is seeking training for one year through online comprehensive and face to face CDI Provider, CDI Specialist and Nursing Informatics training curriculum.

Specific Requirements

  • Implement work plans for CDI Coder Specialists, Nursing Informatics and Physicians Champions
  • Educate CDI Coder Specialists & Nursing Informatics on the importance of concurrent reviews of medical records
  • Validation of diagnosis codes and query processes
  • Educate providers on their audit findings related to documentation, coding and billing requirements
  • Educate providers on clinical documentation needs, changes to clinical documentation guidelines, coding and reimbursement issues Unlimited online attendee access to the web-based CDI training curriculum for existing and newly hired staff, for a period of one year…
